Who is Jack?
Jack’s Landing will be built on Quentin Drive in the centre of Hamilton, at the site previously occupied by Jack House Transit Ltd.
Established in 1896 when George Jack shifted his first building Jack House Transit Ltd has remained as a family run business (with third, fourth and fifth generations currently involved) and is the oldest operating building removal company in New Zealand.
Over its lifetime the company has been responsible for some of the main advancements in the building removal industry now in common practice throughout Australasia. These include the invention of the hydraulic house lifting jacks developed in 1948 and the hydraulic lifting house trailer complete with steering bogeys at each end in 1959/60. Another initiative has been the hydraulically operated sliding turntable.
Developers Quentin Residential Ltd worked closely with their design teams to keep the Jack family name and mana central to the site’s new purpose and are proud to do so with the name of Jack’s Landing. It is hoped that a diverse community with strong Kiwi values in line the the Jack family will flourish here for many more generations.
We look forward to keeping you updated with the latest news an opportunities at Jack’s Landing at Hamilton Lake.
